Sensei Julie (Sensei Paul's Wife) started under Black Panther Academy of Self-Defense Nin Sho Ryu with Sensei Paul.
She holds a Second Dan in Nin Sho Ryu.

Holds Blackbelt 4th Dan under Nin Sho Ryu. Didn't have to pay for testing.
Holds BlackBelt Under Aiki Sho Ryu 5th Dan . Didn't have to pay for testing.
Holds BlackBelt Under MMAZ 5th Dan. Didn't have to pay for testing, this was under 6 different styles
Kempo,Jujitsu,Shotokan,Kung fu, Tae Kwan Do,Hwa Rang Do.
Hold Green in Ho Shin Ryu with Mas Lee.
Holds Blue in Hapkido.
Holds Yellow in American Combat systems. This closed due to Instructor was injured in car accident.


Sensei Paul started training in Martial Arts at 14 years old...Hwa Rang Do Korean hard style martial arts.
Entered the US Army was taught over and over hand to hand combat,without and with weapons, this
style was Hwa Rang Do a Korean martial art. His Instructor kept saying "This will save your life !!" or
"That will heal over time, suck it up get back in the fight."
Leaving the Army as Sargent with the 82nd Airborne, he studied jujitsu,aikido (combat and non competitive).
Met his wife of 25 years in Fargo North Dakota moved to Cottonwood,Az.
At age 32 he trained with Nin Sho Ryu 8 years later tested for and Earned his 1st Dan.
Started Smith Academy of Self-Defense after Black Panther Academy closed.
Ran into new wave Martial Art styles he didn't think was fair to students so he does not charge for belt
tests as Tae Kwan Do and some others do (around 1500.00 to test for what you have earned isn't right).
No Contracts.
No Pretty unforms just sweat.
